Sony Launches the WALKMAN Against iPod - Softpedia: "Sony wants to defeat the iPod at all costs and after launching WALKMAN Bean, now, the Japanese company comes with Sony WALKMAN, which will be shipped in two versions: a 20GB one (NW-A3000) and a 6 GB model (NW-A1000).

Both versions are fitted with OLED type displays; the 20GB one has a 2 inch solution and the other has a 1.5 inch solution. The functions with which Sony WALKMAN hopes to win the buyers� hearts are: 'My Favorite Shuffle� and 'Time Machine Shuffle'. The first selects the 100 most listened to songs and the latter plays songs from a certain year.

The browsing menu used by Sony WALKMAN is similar to the one of a cell phone and everything ('Music Library,' 'Play Mode,' 'Initial Search,' 'Intelligent Shuffle,' 'Favorite 100,' 'Play History,' 'Settings,' 'Playlist' and 'Now Playing') can be controlled via the 4-way button."
